Devi Upāsaka / Anger of the mother Goddess / Pooja and love/ Curious and strange cases
It often happens that people who are told to refrain from recitations and mantra Poojas think that this is some kind of atheism which is not the case. Some other people want to know what is the real procedure for Pooja or prayers to God or Goddesses. If I go with the experience of upāsana from past twenty-seven years, then there is no procedure. You cannot bound such powers with mantras, and if you do any mistake, you will lose your mental balance, the yogini and bhairav assisting the ṃoola devatā will play with you like a toy. Here are some incidents:
🦜 A student of Sri.Mahesh Yogi was performing a devī arādhana and during that process, he saw a bumble bee on the last day. The appearance of that wasp lead to a fault in concentration and he became mad after that. Devi is your mother, you cannot bound your own mother with mantras. If you do, she will show her Maya to you and you will be completely lost in her Maya. The illusion is so powerful that you will forget the real picture.
🦜 Prayers in Sa-kaam upāsana (One which has some ulterior motive like finance, power etc.) requires everything. From nyas, peetha Pooja, prānayama, mantrodhar and the process is endless. This upāsana is one of the most dangerous kind especially in case of mother divine.
🦜 The person in this case was a client and he was sitting in the waiting room. My office carries a glass in the centre and I can always see the person sitting in the other room. This person started dozing within few minutes after coming to my office. I thought that he was suffering from fatigue so did not took any notice.
While talking to him, he took permission to ask me a question, which I agreed to. He asked me whether I do some upāsana of a Devi or someone to which I simply lied partly because I did not ventured into any upāsana (Which was a truth) and partly because I did not want to disclose anything. He told me that there is a Bhagwati named so and so and she has a strong presence at this place or my office. Now it was my turn to get amazed. He informed that the devī just forced him to go to sleep. I was wondering what is happening but did not tell him anything. He was shivering like a leaf while he was telling me all this.
He told me that his Guru is a tantric who worships the same devī. Though he and his guru himself worshipped the devi but they were doing some ṭantra mantra and was afflicted by some yogini or some negative force. It seems that even Goddess did not like him somehow.
🦜 This was the strangest case. The man who came to my office was heavily built and carried a good height. However, when he came to my office, he was very angry without reasons. I never met him before so did not knew why he was angry. His eyes were blood red and he asked me questions with extreme anger and hatred and instead of getting angry I was amused. I do not know why it was happening when suddenly somebody caught him by throat and he could not speak. His wife and even I tried to help him but he could barely speak anything.
Then we moved him outside my office where he had immediate relief. He told me that the devī caught him by throat and he felt he was going to die. I told him to leave because I sensed that something is not good and that person is heavily afflicted. Devi might have given him a minor heart attack.
🦜 these incidents tell me that even love can be a very big prayer instead of the invocation by mantras. I realized that amma is not a goddess to me, she is my family. I can ask her anything and I can very well get angry with her (which I do sometimes when she does not listen to me). She often smiles at me when I have secrets to hide from her.
🦜 I could see that she loves children very much. Once while I was inside the temple, the caretaker woman of the temple was threating some children because they used to gather over there for prāśad. I immediately sensed that she was angry with the woman as she loved those children from nearby slum area.
🦜 It does not matter to God, whether you have eaten food or kept a fast. It does not matter whether you see the ṃuhurta for invocation or not, what matters is, that you are nobody when you are standing in front of her or him. What matters is that the vessel should be pure and filled with love to receive that love. God might not give you money or anything but what he might give you will be above all these matters. So when you are rich or powerful after some Sadhna then trust me you are getting the lowest order of results as been mentioned in mantramahodadhī. Only complete love is the final outcome as can be seen in the lives of Sri.Ramakrishna Paramhansa, Sri Ramanna, Sri Neem Karoli Baba or Sri.Bamakhepa.
