WHAT IS MEDITATION:
WIKI: The term meditation refers to a broad variety of practices (much like the term sports) that includes techniques designed to promote relaxation, build internal energy or life force (qi, ki, prana, etc.) and develop compassion,[3] love, patience, generosity and forgiveness. A particularly ambitious form of meditation aims at effortlessly sustained single-pointed concentration[4] single-pointed analysis,[5] meant to enable its practitioner to enjoy an indestructible sense of well-being while engaging in any life activity.
Simply put, anything which puts you in a relaxed state of mind with a control on breathing is called meditation.

PURPOSE:
1. We are living in a time called “Kaliyuga”. This means we are troubled by lots of things. So we need meditation for sound mental health.
2. This gives us power of concentration.
3. It relaxes our mind and body.
4. It helps in mental growth.
5. It helps in spiritual growth. (Yes, yes there is something called spirit in every human body and this is a food for that spirit).
6. It boosts our physical health as well. Physical health has a direct and strong connection with spiritual health.
7. On a higher level, it eliminates all bad things and promotes immense and continuous blissful state.
WHO SHOULD DO IT ?
This is the best part. There is no limit or bar on age, sex, caste, colour or creed. Anybody at any stage of life can do it. Any person with a normal physical health, who is above the age of five can successfully accomplish this easy task. In short, everybody should do it.
WHAT ELEMENTS ARE INVOLVED ?
1. Body and Mind.
2. Breathing pattern.
3. Food.
4. Time and Place.
ABOUT FOOD ?
Food: Food is an essential ingredient of your mental growth. In fact a higher percentage of your character is your food. So one needs to be careful about food. Food can promote or inhibit your meditation practise. Certain food items are not good for mental peace or in other words they simply disturb you during meditation. Though people on higher planes do not worry about food. They develop a system where they can ingest and digest anything. For them everything is “Padarth” which is a composition of five elements. They can convert the food at elemental level. Swami Bama once converted the non-veg food to sweetmeats during a “Mrityoobhoja”( rituals after death) in his village. As we are normal humans at an initial stage, it is necessary to abstain from consumption of the following food:
Following things should be avoided:
1.Non-vegetarian food.
2. Oily and greasy or heavy food.
3. Asafetida, chillies, hot food, garlic, onion, coffee, alcohol, eggs, tobacco, fish, mustard, pickles, tamarind, black gram or brinjals.
I am not sure about brinjals, black gram and mustard. I have seen the effects of others. It might be mind boggling for some but they really restrain the spiritual growth.
“Anna” or grains have a narcotic effect called sleep. Cow’s milk (for those who are not intolerant to dairy) is the best for spiritual growth. Lite food items which do not fill your stomach in completion are good as well. Please note that this has nothing to do with your believes or ideas or even your religion. Saints who roamed this mortal planet have promoted these ideas during their lifetime. Clergy and priest craft in every religion has adulterated the truest spirit of this truly unique science. One who does not abstains his followers from such food, is definitely anything but not a true prophet. Amusing thing is the statements given by clergies, whether they belong to church, mosque or Hindu temples. They abstain you from greater good and promote a bounded development limited to their rigid ideas of “Dharma” or religion. It does not matter whether you believe it or not, truth remain the truth. Even all the higher souls are united to each other at a supreme level. I have seen Hindu saints discussing Jesus as a true saint. I have read about Muslim saints or Faqueers discussing Radha Krishna. I have read about Sikh saints who believed in truest spirit. In fact I strongly believe that every path which is true is united. Such paths tell and preach same thing. Fake path is one which abstains you from true realization and greater unity.
OH! let us come back to the point.
PLACE, TIMING .
Choose a place which is aloof or at least peaceful. It should not be damp and should not carry any odour as well. It should not get frequented very often. It should not carry any electronic equipments or should be away from any possible intrusions from radio frequencies or electro-magnetic influences. (Keep your cellphones and wifi antennas in an offline mode)
Time: First and foremost condition is that your time for meditation should be a free time. One should not meditate during a time when they can be disturbed by their daily routines. Choose a time when you are free and cannot get disturbed. Time from 00.00 hours to 7:00 hours is the best time. Humanoids are sleeping and there are lesser vibes in air. Do not worry you can choose any time you like. 3:00 AM is my personal favourite.
HOW TO DO IT ?
Your bowels should be clean before meditation. IBS patients and people suffering from constipation should remain on a fibrous diet (wiki page) for few days before starting the whole thing. Wash your hands and feet and clear your mouth with clean water. Do not use high fragrant mouth wash ?
Choose a comfortable posture like Vajrasan, sukhasan or Padmasan. Make sure that your spine is straight.
Sorry for the bad drawing. You can learn about these asanas from any website. You can also sit cross legged with straight spine. Just make sure that you are confortable and not so comfortable that you go to sleep. Sit against a wall or use a pillow for comfort. You might have pain in legs or back for first few days but it will fade away after few days. If the pain is constant then you need to consult a doctor. First few days might increase your sleep and you might feel drugged but do not worry these are common symptoms.
After sitting in this position, take few long breadths. Start meditating on your breathing system. Look how you breath out and in. You will see that your whole concentration will be deviated to breathing pattern. Your breadth should be steady and comfortable. Uneasiness in any sense is not good. If there is a problem then you can always call me or mail me. (Yes, I will respond). Continue this practise for a month. Give it one hour or half an hour at least.
Your eyes should always remain closed during every kind of meditation. Second stage requires you to look in-between your eyebrows, or concentrate on the centre of your two eyes.
You will see definite changes in yourself. You will be more calm and pacified.
After this there are two methods. On is to meditate on your beloved deity, saint, teacher, guide or mantra. Second is to meditate for nothingness. Second method is tough. Make sure that if you have chosen some kind of recitation, then the recitation should be rhythmic. No highs and no lows, everything should be balanced. Do not choose any mantras which carry sound like (hreem, shreem, klim, fatt, vicche) etc etc. You can call me at (91 97 99 333 666) if you want to know why.
When you choose the second method then first consider your mind as a room with lots of doors. Consider your thoughts as someone outside the room. Now lock all doors one by one and then even forget this. This method is very tough but very powerful method. You can also meditate on primordial energy or look for light in between your eyebrows. This kind of meditation gives you immense peace of mind. You will always remain in a blissful stage.
Further advance methods require a proper Guru or guide for the same. Cross these first stages and a teacher will appear when the student is ready.
