संस्मरण : वो मिठाई का डिब्बा और महाराज जी का आदेश

 

हम पंडितों को तो मिठाई के डिब्बे खूब मिलते हैं | कभी किसी की शादी है, कभी किसी के घर शिशु का जन्म और ऐसे समय में पंडित जी याद आ ही जाते हैं | हमें तो डिब्बे मिलते ही रहते हैं | दिवाली के समय तो घर में मिठाइयाँ ही मिठाइयां पहुँच जाती हैं |

ऐसे ही एक दिन एक सज्जन अपने पुत्र के विवाह के उपलक्ष में हमें भेंट व मिठाई का डिब्बा दे गए | उस दिन बहुत लोग मिलने आये थे इसलिए काफी देर हो चुकी थी | जब सब चले गए तब हमें अचानक वो मिठाई का डिब्बा याद आया | हमने तुरंत हाथ मुहं धोकर उसे भगवान के सामने रख दिया, भोग के लिए | हमेंशा ध्यान रखना चाहिए की भोजन या सौगात में अन्तर्निहित तत्व महत्त्वपूर्ण होता है | जहर भावनाओं से भी घुलता है और इश्वर को हर चीज़ पहले अर्पित करने से उसका दुष्प्रभाव ख़त्म हो जाता है | इसलिए किसी दुसरे से ली हुई प्रत्येक वास्तु को इश्वर को अर्पित अवश्य करें |

भोग के पश्चात जैसे ही हमने डिब्बे को उठाया की आदेश मिला | “ये तुम्हारे लिए नहीं है “ यह आदेश अन्य आदेशों की तरह नहीं था | महाराज जी की वाणी में कुछ सख्ती थी, शायद हमने पहले कोई आदेश अनसुना कर दिया था |

हमने सोचा ठीक है, जिसके लिए है वो अवश्य मिल जायेगा | आदेश था “जहाँ जाओ इसे लेकर जाना” |

 

शाम को हम गुरूद्वारे जा रहे थे तो डिब्बा भी साथ लेते गए | शाम के समय गुरूद्वारे में मंगला होती है | यह श्री गुरुनानक देव द्वारा रचित सबसे सुन्दर रचना है | इसे उन्होंने श्री जगन्नाथ पुरी के मंदिर में रचा था | इसको लिखने का कारण पंडितो का क्षुब्ध करने वाला आचरण था | वे भगवान के श्रृंगार में इतने डूबे थे की स्वयं भगवान् को ही भूल गए थे | गुरु नानक देव जी ने भाव पूजा को स्मरण करते हुए इस अत्यंत सुन्दर मंगला की रचना की थी |

गुरूद्वारे में रागी जी पूर्ण भाव के साथ इसको गा रहे थे की हमारी नज़र एक बूढ़े निहंग पर पड़ी | वे दो जन थे परन्तु हमने ध्यान से देखा तो उनके साथ दो अत्यंत बूढी औरतें भी थीं | हमें आदेश समझ में आ गया था |

आरता साहिब के पश्चात हम उस भद्र पुरुष के पास पहुंचे और मिठाई का डिब्बा उन्हें दे दिया | डिब्बे को देखते ही उस व्यक्ति की आँखों में नमी उतर आई, हमे भीतर से आवाज़ आयी की यह व्यक्ति बहुत दिन से भूखा है | ऊपर की जेब में कुछ माया पड़ी थी , वो सब कुछ हमने उन्हें दे दिया | रुपये देखते ही वो रोने लगे , और हमारी ऑंखें भी नम हो गयीं |  हमें आशीर्वाद पे आशीर्वाद देने लगे | हम चुप चाप वहां से उठ कर आ गए | इसके बाद हमने प्रण कर लिया की ईश्वर के आदेश को कभी नहीं टालेंगे, चाहे धन हो या न हो परन्तु जिसकी जितनी हो सके मदद जरूर करेंगे | हम सब निमित्त मात्र हैं देने वाला, लेने वाला तो वो ही है | आगे से आदेश था की आज के बाद जब भी घर से बाहर जाओ तो जेब में माया जरूर रखकर जाओ | हम इस आदेश का सदा पालन करते हैं | नजाने कब किस मोड़ पर नारायण इंतज़ार करते हुए मिल जाएँ |

तुलसी या संसार में, सबसे मिलिए धाय! न जाने किस रूप में, नारायण मिल जायें|

 

The box of sweets and order of Maharaj Ji

We Pundits get plenty of sweets boxes. Occasions include marriages, child birth, new vehicle etc etc, Pundit Ji get remembered everytime. We keep getting the boxes. At the time of Diwali, our home gets filled with such boxes. It is because of the overwhelming love and sometimes it is gratitude or sheer respect.

Once a person gave me a gift box and a box of sweets in the auspicious occasion of his son’s wedding. There were several meetings on that day so I got too late. When all went away, I suddenly remembered the sweet box. Immediately  I washed my hands and put it in front of God. We must keep in mind that the underlying element in food or gift is very important. Poison dissolves even with emotions, and by giving everything to God first, its evil effect gets demolished. Therefore, we must offer to God every object taken from others.

After the “Bhog” when I took the box in my hands I got this instruction, “This is not for you”.  This order was not like other orders. There was some sternness in the voice of Maharaj ji, perhaps I had previously ignored some order.

I thought, “Ok, right, who so ever it belongs to, he/she will appear at appropriate time to take it”. The order was to take the box along wherever I go.

In the evening, I was going to Gurudwara and I took the box as well. In the evening time, Gurudwaras observe the recitation of “Aarta Sahib”. This is the most beautiful composition written by Shri Gurunanak Dev ji. It was composed in the temple of Shri Jagannath Puri. The reason of writing this was a dismal behavior of the Pandits. They were so immersed in God’s makeup that they forgot God himself. Guru Nanak Dev Ji had composed this very beautiful Mangala while remembering Bhava Puja. It is one of the most beautiful of the compositions and I really love listening to it.

In Gurudwara, Ragi Ji was singing it with full expression when my eyes fell on an old Nihang. They were two people, but when I looked carefully, I found that there were accompanied by two very old women. I understood the order by then.

After Aarta Sahib, I approached that gentleman and gave them the box of sweets. While he was looking at the box, I saw that his eyes were moist with reverence and gratitude. My inner voice told me that this person has been hungry for a long time. There was money in my upper pocket, I just took all of it and hid it between his palms. Seeing the notes, he started crying, and My eyes were also wet. They started showering blessings upon me, I ignored them and came out of the hall. After this incident, I decided that I will always listen to the orders, whether I have money or no money, but we will definitely help others as much as possible. We all are just puppets in his hands. It is he who gives it and it is he who receives it. I got further orders that I should always keep some extra money in my pockets, whenever I go out of the house. I always follow this order. Who knows that some fine day you will be able to meet “Shri Narayan” waiting for you, on your next turn.

तुलसी या संसार में, सबसे मिलिए धाय! न जाने किस रूप में, नारायण मिल जायें|

Tulsidaas ji says – one should meet everyone with affection, respect and devotion. Who knows when you end up meeting God!
