People who often come to me, tell me that they visit temples and worship idols and nothing happens or it does not bring any changes in life. They themselves are fooled by such ideas that a stone carving can change their future or present problems. One needs to change him/her from inside to change the outer things. If you hate yourself, then you cannot love others, if you criticize yourself then you cannot praise others. If you do not respect yourself then you cannot respect others. The concept of supreme bliss starts from your home, from your thinking pattern. It never starts by visiting temples or such things. You need to change your thinking if you need to change the world around you. You need to change your deeds and exercise humble attitude in your daily activities. Most of the people who suffer never analyse themselves in true sense. They blame God and every other person for their pain. They are often so gratified, that they cannot listen to anything against them. You know even if you bargain from a poor man, then you are committing a vice in the eyes of God.
People donate millions of rupees in temples calling it a community help while in fact this is far from truth. These temples do not feed poor or serve the wretched. In fact just yesterday I saw an old man who was sitting near the stairs outside the Digambar Jain temple. He was literally chased by the guards over there. Those people who tell others that they are religious, they are basically hypocrites. If you cannot respect the human soul, you do not deserve to be called humans. What is the use of all these millions when you cannot feed a hungry child ? Community means unrestricted and public while all of them are just feeding their own personal groups.
