Phony Modern Jyotiśa- बृहतपाराशरहोरा- Brihat parashara hora- BPHS
The BPHS (बृहतपाराशरहोरा) that is the base book of jyotiśa in modern times was not even known to jyotiśa scholars a few centuries back. In fact, none of the ancient scholars have mentioned multiple varga divisions that are shown in BPHS. The five major books of jyotiśa are Bṛhadajātakaṃ, Jataka Pārijāta, Phaldeepika, Saravali & Sarvārtha Cintāmaṇī. There is no mention of BPHS. Though Ṛṣi Paraśara is mentioned by Varāha and Bhaṭṭotpala (833 AD); both but none of them have a copy of BPHS which suddenly surfaced out of nowhere after a thousand years. Also, multiple things mentioned in (BPHS बृहतपाराशरहोरा) are totally doubtful and have zero ṣastric backing from counterparts specially in case of divisional charts.
To add to this mayhem several modern scholars have added ḍevthas to divisional charts while their origin would have been questioned. Any salient person involved in actual study of jyotiśa will immediately see mistakes in BPHS. The method of divisional charts and uses are not correct and they cannot be successfully employed in blind charts (I challenge if anyone can simply use a divisional chart in a blind chart and predict with success). In fact, none of the modern gullible gurus lamenting about D20, D24 have got even a basic idea of these things. The kaliyug schools have added ḍevthas and ramified the meaning of these divisions without even paying attention to their authenticity. Internet is full of such horrific idiotic conclusions where gurus are teaching uses of gems through anśa charts ( anśa are degrees not even proper chart). Not even that; they are teaching spiritual sādhana with D20. (They must be more knowledgeable than Sri Vārāhamihira himself).
It is not a wonder that ancient seers mentioned that Imposters, actors and fake people without knowledge will become Gurus in modern era.
