An uncle of mine who was the director of one of the most premier museums of Jaipur once gave me a brilliant idea of how to say no to somebody. When he was the director of City palace, then some channel people (star and sony) were after him to set up a station tower at dilapidated tower near Nahargarh. He knew that this might turn into a disaster as the tower would not be able to bear it for too long. He also knew that being influential, these channel people will get permissions from higher authorities. So instead of saying no, he told them to set up the tower, but he also told them to pay a daily rental the amount of which was exorbitant from any limits. You can guess what happened, they turned down their wish themselves. This was a brilliant way of saying no with a yes. When you want to say “NO”, do not say no. Just say yes with a hidden no.
