Privacy, open minded, bored, these are one of the most misused words in the modern world. Let us understand the words in the light of intellectual surgery. Youngsters often tell me that they do not have privacy in their life. What is “Privacy”? Privacy is concealment and when do one conceal or hide. This happens when we are doing something that is wrong and immoral. This happens when you have that guilt feeling that you are doing something erroneous in your life and you want to hide it from others. This is the misuse of the word. You are not some raw or CIA agent who want to secure their private life from privy eyes. So when your children talk about privacy then they are actually talking about their hidden immoral deeds. Life is an open book for a true heart, for all the rest there is something called the misused privacy.
The second most heard word is rigidity, or open minded. Yes, I understand that sometimes parents are rigid because they are born and brought up in different times but this word is misused very often. Nobody, can label their parent as rigid if they refuse to let him visit a bar in the middle of the night. But, this really happens, simple wishes of parents are ignored and they get labelled as rigid and inconsiderate. What is open minded?, something related to taboos of society. Some taboos are wrong and some are absolutely scientific. One cannot label every social norm as rigidity but this is what is happening right now. This is the peril supplied by westernization, spreading its wings in the form of digital social platforms and digital world. Social applets are misused and cyber bullying is common place because of truck load of idiotic assumptions about the society.
Third, word is bored. What is getting bored means? I am dead sure that most of the people who use this word are not even aware of its literal meaning. The meaning of the word “Bore” is “Chatter box”. The exact antonym of the meaning it is used for. When one does gets bored (considering the meaning it is used for)? One gets bored when one is restless, suffer from anxiety, and suffers from loneliness. So next time you get bored just look for the phone number of a psychiatrist in the yellow pages.
